You Could Be Knee Deep In Quicksand

August 31, 2008

Sarah Palin, our esteemed Republican Vice Presidential candidate was rudely and frivolously insulted minutes before she even took the podium. Politicians, media and internet journalists take heed. Your political aspirations are not going to be furthered by treating Sarah Palin in any manner other than on the merits and with fairness. I am old enough to remember the Gloria Steinem speeches, NOW, Burn the Bra to wit the Woman's Movement. With the advent of contraception, everybody is on the same playing field and  it is not permissable for men to raise  a bar especially for woman in these matters. In the 21 century, woman can strive for CEO or even Vice President. Gone are the days of compelled innocence and demure silence and having to defer to a man all the time. I watched Democrat and Republican woman personalities on the media getting all riled up when inane and unprovable and hateful rumors were hurled at this outstanding candidate. Sarah Palin ran Alaska as a Governor while Barack Obama left the Senate to campaign for President. Men have to realize that woman in our country of all races and origins are scrutinizing the remarks that Ms, Palin is catching. If you happen to be an official I think you should be civil because if this strategy on the part of her adversaries to defame her as a a Lucy Ricardo candidate escalates we are going to see a nation of a scorned sisterhood who understand very well what is going down. More and more people are going to remember how she was treated by going to the polls on November 4 and expressing their wishes to bring in the McCain ticket big time. What is Mr. Edwards doning now? He really did not get the coal racking because after all he is in the big cigar men's club while women across the country
continue to answer the phones.

John Mccain And Sarah Palin Are Untouchable

August 29, 2008

When I saw Sarah Palin get the nod while watching Fox, my sigh of relief could be heard the world over. She is a Wonder Woman for female voters of every stripe everywhere. She cannot be challenged by the Obama ticket because they will be afraid of bullying her because she is a woman and alienating woman everywhere. Now if women want to break through the glass ceiling they will be encumbered to vote the McCain ticket, a woman may be President. Palin is not a typical cookie maker, she is no Washington DC insider and a tough, physically fit woman who has an outdoorsy, woodcutter-like husband and family. This will nullify Obama, Biden, Nancy Pelosi, the Far Left, and Oprah who now has an untenable dance to make between women's rights and Obama being President. They all are effectively muzzled by an Iron Horse. There are more woman voters in America than men and most feel disenfranchised. Also while Michelle is trotting down Rodeo Drive pricing coach bags, Sarah Palin is fishing for salmon in the wilderness and being real and very appetizing to the voters in Election 2008.

Treat Her Like A Lady

August 23, 2008

Joe Biden is a good guy but that does not mean that Obama and his campaign should have failed to consider a Hillary play and treated her more respectfully. This in the face of what I think would have been a craftily offered refusal by Mrs. Clinton. Why does she need to be a Veep for a potential Obama Presidency which is speculative at best? First off they do not get along. Next, she looks better on her own in 2012 in light of McCain's promise not to run again or Obama flubbing. Back to Joe Biden. He has to work on his appearance, he looked like a Scranton short sleeved plant manager with a bad hair day. His hair was flying and he kept smoothing it over and his shirt was wrinkled and not tucked in down below. When I started my first sales job in 1973, they taught us to always have an immaculate appearance when meeting our customers. Believe me, in any vocation, appearance does matter and when he gave that speech, he was not neat and well groomed. The sight of Obama sitting just to the left of Biden looking just like The Thinker created the appearance of an Odd Couple, and that is what they must avoid. I know that being a strong Republican supporter I have done my share of Obama criticism. That is not to say that an Obama-Biden ticket cannot win in November. There is not a true military connection on the Obama side, Biden's background reflects Obama's own obsession with talking without carrying a big stick, Nevertheless, we cannot discount the anger in the electorate and when they are angry, they change, sometimes based on skewed evaluation. One thing though, Obama has consistently boasted about voting against the war (Biden the opposite) and always has maintained he was right. I think it is going to turn out that he was wrong and like all Americans unable to credit himself while being subject to  proper and necessary omission of classified information. Finally, Obama should have played that old song by Cornelius Brothers and Sister Rose- Treat Her Like a Lady before he apparently offended Hilliary Clinton, my own Senator. I'm hearing very unacceptable accounts on Fox that Michelle Obama is thought to be behind the Hilliary dis  although so far there is no probative evidence of this. All I can say if my wife of 27 years was  First Lady, she would be running the world for sure.

Gary Hart vs Barack Obama

August 19, 2008

Are any of you old enough to remember Gary Hart, whose Presidential candidacy ended based on the media attributing, I think one solitary issue to him. I remember the classic photo of Donna Rice sitting on his lap on a boat. I am not sure why that's so terrible when we compare Mr. Hart to today's politicians and their attending issues. Will someone with a good sense of detail list Barack Obama's issues starting with Chicago and compare his treatment by all the players to Gary Hart who was actually dismissed for being involved with basically nothing. Incidentally. Mr. Hart, a Colorado prominent attorney has been a great asset to America since the tragic and reprehensible event which was allowing a beautiful woman to sit on his lap, an innocuous activity that happens anywhere where adults party or have a few beers at a barbecue. Frankly I would be worried about him if he had thrown her off. I simply request that someone take an Excel program and list the troubling issues of one candidate and then punch in the one issue of the other as comparison. I think American values have changed a lot to the downside since the Hart-Rice photograph hit the dailies.

"Not Fit For Publication"

August 15, 2008

Mr. Corsi, author of the new bestseller that is vexing the Obama's campaign and possibly Obama himself in the same manner that Kerry was affected in  his candidacy.I have to tell you that I do not have a dog in this fight even when considering that my blogs clearly indicate my unadulterated support for John McCain. Although the author appears to have a Type A Personality and is extremely actionable and driven towards providing a host of interesting facts about  Obama, I have some serious observations about Obama's campaign's response to the media. There was a response that I saw in a Fox clip indicating that the book was "not fit for publication". What does that mean? Is
Obama and/or his people indicating some sort of censorship just because of an emotional objection to a book that is a #1 New York Times bestseller? What about authors that self publish which ordinarily absent of violating any federal laws will always be published and fit because you cannot stop a an author from publishing at his own expense. So the result is the denial of First Amendment Freedom of the Press and Obama saying virtually the same thing when Michelle stumped for him and he demanded that media and reporters stop typing. As long as Mr. Corsi did not violate Federal laws regarding certain varieties of treasonous or discriminatory text in his book, why is the book unfit to publish, after all it made #1 meaning that there are a lot of interested readers. Does this mean if he makes it I will have to eat, read, and drive what he wants me to? Also, he must know as a Harvard lawyer that he is free to file a libel suit however he also knows from his law training that Truth is the best defense against a civil litigation suit brought before a court as an individual being libeled.

Bye Bye Ms. American Pie

August 9, 2009

A long long time ago.............................. Don McLean's seminal anthem rock song mostly formatted about that unforgettable day on a wintry North Dakota plain when Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Richie Valens perished when their silver plane crashed on the way to the next North Country gig instantly popped into my head yesterday when Breaking News came on. By the way, that was the "Day The Music Died". And that is exactly why that song connected with me instantly (I am a music critic as well), because this thing with John Edwards will result, for the next several years in furthering the same thing for the Democrats. We now have seen Bill Clinton, John Edwards and two governors from New York involved in the very things that the Bible Belt and the religious right and voters of significant faith are going to pull out that big brush and start to paint. Imagine the subliminal advertising that will be created when Bill gets up to speak at the convention. If I were not a journeymen freelance writer and hypothetically a major reporter I would ask at the next network interview with  Obama if he knew anything about John Edwards alleged activities when he merrily tramped off to North Carolina as he sought Edwards' endorsement. While we are at it, did Obama know anything about this reported caper at any time. It is conceivable that John Edwards could have made it to Vice President or President. That is why it is imperative that the television media, newspapers and Townhall participants step up the questioning of both Presidential candidates and fill in the blanks especially concerning the many omitted subjects on Obama that were unethically separated thus ar from the information disseminated to voters. Why is Obama goldbricking in Honolulu when we have another, most treacherous war beginning, the housing crisis worsening and our problems as a nation becoming threatening and overbearing to our concerned and worried electorate? Would you not think that as a Presidential hopeful our government might want to brief him away from a sailboat ? Perhaps his Congressional committee might need him, having already vociferously complained about his in and out behavior. We cannot go to Honolulu or Sparta or even the Jersey Shore, because unlike Mr. Obama, we cannot afford to do this and would not leave our jobs if we were somewhat indispensable and requested by our boss to keep working. And now there is Edwards, the proverbial fly in the ointment and like my referenced classic rock song becoming the probable cause of a political party spinning off to a long hiatus when the can of worms opens.

Huckabee Is The Better Choice

August 7, 2008

Light years ago at the beginning of one of the most implicating eras in our history, young John Kennedy , a presidential candidate was coupled with a man as his running mate who was the antithesis of what he himself was about. That arm twisting, pork barrel Democrat Conservative was Lyndon Baines Johnson and the odd maneuver was termed the Southern Strategy. Obviously, the thinking at the time was that Johnson could rope in the entire South, a region always known for similar values and loyal to a lance man. In 2008, and especially considering the enormous influence of the religious Conservative vote, Huckabee could conceivably accomplish the same thing. I find Huckabee to be a fabulous and charismatic speaker, poised and educated and very deftly capable of speaking off the teleprompter. He is folksy and lovable and has that "let's go for a beer image". Blue collar voters like him. There is the same notion concerning Romney that envelopes either of the top of the ticket candidates that they can fix the economy. As I have noted many times with respect to the others, Romney is a big businessman who ran a retail chain. He is not an economist or a CPA nor worked on a Federal level in a related agency. I really like Mr. Romney, visually he  is without a doubt the most attractive looking candidate I have ever seen. The Mormon issue is something that I will never in my life agree with, ascribe to or validate. American politics can be quirky, unforgiving and in the case of discrimination against Romney because of these preconceived notions are indeed very nasty and patently unfair to  him. Unfortunately, however distasteful, you have to take it as it comes in political analysis and commentary and I have to say the Republican ticket will lose to an outrageous and unqualified candidate if they go with Romney. The Moody Blues nailed it when they penned the tune "Isn't life strange?"
